Originally formed in 1978 from the ashes of The Sonic Assassins, by Robert Calvert and Dave Brock (of Hawkwind).

Hawklords was rebooted in 2008 by former Hawkwind alumni, including Nik Turner and guitarist Jerry Richards, to play a celebratory concert for founder member, the late Robert Calvert, lyricist for Hawkwind’s 1970s hit classic, ‘Silver Machine’.

Since 2008 the band has toured the UK and Europe extensively, released two live DVD concerts and is touring their 12th consecutive album of original material, ‘S P A C E’ across the UK throughout October 2023. The band’s critically acclaimed 2021 CD release, TIME’ charted at number 7 in the Official UK Top 40 Rock & Metal Chart and at number 29 in the Official UK Top 30 Indie Album Chart.

LYTUPP are four friends from Portsmouth UK, pioneering the genre of “ProvRock” – purely improvised psych rock music that ranges from chilled ambience to heavy spaced-out noise.
