Kepler Ten bring their latest album - A New Kind of Sideways - to the stage for the very first time after a break of over 2 years. Regulars at the old Talking Heads, we’ve not seen them in the 1865 since the recording of their Falling Down video in 2020. Like so many other bands, the pandemic curtailed their touring plans, until now.
Formed in 2015 in Southampton, the progressive trio of James Durand, Steve Hales and Richie Cahill immediately grabbed attention with their debut album - Delta-v, culminating in their nomination in the Limelight category of the Prog Awards in 2017. Following Richie’s departure from the band, Alistair Bell was eventually recruited as new permanent member in time to finish writing and recording their second album. A New Kind of Sideways was released at the end of 2020 during the on/off Covid restrictions and they decided to put their plans for live shows on hold. Despite the lack of touring support, the album has been incredibly popular, winning several awards and featuring in many 'best of year' lists around the world.
As always with Kepler Ten it will be a full night of music. They will open the evening as their Rush-loving alter egos - R2 - playing songs from across the Canadian band’s 40-year career. The main event will be the premier performance of A New Kind of Sideways complete with a host of favourites from Delta-v.
Kepler Ten are:
James Durand - Bass/Keys/Vocals
Steve Hales - Drums
