About The Event
Beatrix Players front-woman and principal songwriter Ms Amy Birks returns with her second solo album, In Our Souls.
Ms Amy Birks returns to the stage for the first time this Spring since her memorable sold out shows in 2018. This time she brings to the stage her brand new trio including fellow founding Beatrix Player, guitarist Tom Manning.
Beatrix Players won the prestigious Prog Magazine Limelight Award for their debut album Magnified in 2017 and went on to garner an impressive array of reviews, features and opening act slots from the likes of Big Big Train, Carl Palmer, Tim Bowness and Steve Harley.
Birks' self-produced debut solo album All That I Am & All That I Was featuring a stand-out guest appearance from Genesis legend and renowned classical guitarist Steve Hackett, was released on the cusp of the Covid19 lockdowns garnering widespread acclaim in the process. Amy returns this spring with its follow-up, In Our Souls which is released in two formats - digital (streaming & download) on April 8th 2022 and a very limited edition vinyl / cd gatefold combination pack on June 18th.
The In Our Souls album represents Birks’ second time around as producer and mixing engineer. She recalls the process as being “a time of solitude, of many a late night, exploring ideas and losing myself in the books and poetry of the Bronte’s and my own personal journey over the past few years, developing my ears, skills and confidence as a composer."
This year's set promises songs drawn from all three albums including fresh arrangements of some Beatrix Players fan-favourites.

“A warm series of piano-driven songs that combine the dynamics and vocal delivery of Kate Bush with Tori Amos piano-gymnastics” – FOLK RADIO
