Hipshaker DJs, established in 1998, play a mix of funk, soul, disco and more on heavyweight vinyl.

Hailing from the south coast they’re known for hosting their own club nights, including at Southampton’s near legendary Soul Cellar, plus their own stage at the Isle of Wight Festival, a weekend of events at the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally, warm up slots for major artists, main stage duties at Victorious Festival and curating their own compilation album.

They’re fast becoming a fixture at the ever popular Butlins Soul Weekenders where they play with their wider collective of vinyl DJs offering something a little different.

Playing at such a broad range of events gives them the opportunity to showcase the variety in their record collections which predominantly cover the ‘60s to ‘80s era of classic funk, soul and disco … although you’ll also hear a smattering of later tracks and new releases with a classic vibe plus wider, linked genres like ska, jazz, reggae, latin etc where appropriate.

They can currently be found hosting Hipshaker club events in Portsmouth, Guildford and Newport on the Isle of Wight.
